Educational Compost-Making Activity with School Pupils

26-28 January 2016

As part of the Foundation’s journey to build hibiscus gardens in three adopted schools under the Setia Caring School Programme, Ms Chan Li Jin from SUBUR Community Gardens conducted talks on composting at three schools in order to educate the school pupils and Setia volunteers on making compost and the common mistakes and solutions of composting.

Following the talk, the participants were given hands-on experience on making a compost pile on the school ground. Each participant also brought along their green and brown waste such as dry leaves, shredded papers, cardboard, coffee grinds and kitchen waste in order to produce a healthy compost.
