As the year is marching towards the end, S P Setia Foundation held the first ever joint graduation in Johor for all the standard 6 students from the 4 schools adopted under the Setia Caring School Programme. Students of SK Kota Dalam, SK Felda Bukit Permai, SJKT Kulai Besar and SJKC See Long will gather in the hall fof SJKC See Long to celebrate the completion of their primary school journey. This joint graduation would be first of its kind as teachers of the 4 schools of SCSP Johor are working together to make this meaningful and joyous ceremony happen.
On 19th November 2017, a half day graduation ceremony brought together 267 standard 6 students from SK Kota Dalam (84), SK Felda Bukit Permai (17), SJKT Kulai Besar (138) and SJKC See Long (27). Extending our invitation to the teachers and parents of these students, an estimate of 400 teachers and parents of these students attended the graduation ceremony to witness their children achieving one of their first milestones in life. This joint graduation ceremony would be one of the last times all these students from different schools gather together under the SCSP banner; to once again remind these students that learning can be fun and creative, and that they will bring this piece of memory with them to the next phase of their education.
The joint graduation was attended by SP Setia Foundation chairman Tan Sri Dr Wan Zahid Mohd Noordin and the district education office head. Pn Siti Haslin, headmistress of SK Kota Dalam represented the 4 schools to deliver a speech to the students offering them advices before leaving their alma mater.
Apart from the certificate giving ceremony, the graduation was spiced up by the dance performances by the students with special needs from SJKT Kulai Besar who were a part of our The Inclusive Creative Arts (TICA) programme as well as students from SJKC See Long. The graduation ceremony ended with a group photo session and lunch was served for all parents and students.
