SCSP Standard 6 Unity Field Trip to Kuala Lumpur

In efforts to help deserving children receive a holistic education, S P Setia Foundation had brought together 140 standard six students in the Setia Caring School Programme from SJKT Tasek Permai, SJKC Aik Hua, SK Batu Ferringhi, SJKT Kulai Besar, SJKC See Long and SK Kota Dalam to spend their weekend together; fostering cultural diversity and creating new friendships.

A fun-filled educational and adventurous consisting of sightseeing at Putrajaya and Menara KL, adrenaline pumping activities at Jumpstreet, paying visit to the historical National Musuem and Royal Musuem. Not only the students get to learn more about their country, they also fostered new friendship encouraging cultural differences as well as learning about our country better.

More than 30 volunteers from Team Setia and Setia Foundation volunteers together with Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Wan Zahid Noordin (Chairman of S P Setia Foundation) made time to ensure that the young children from Penang and Johor were treated to an exciting and memorable experience.

The children were ecstatic as they were given the chance to visit many places during the eventful '3 Days 2 Nights' trip which included the KL City Gallery, the National Monument and KL Tower. They were mesmerized by the mere sight of Petronas Twin Towers at KLCC as well as the colourful marine life in Aquaria.

Another highlight of the trip was the Fantasy rainforest show in Putrajaya; with a story centered on the special connection between human beings and Mother Nature, the performance showcased the various flora and fauna in Malaysia’s rainforests, as well as the tribes who live there and interact with their surroundings. The students were captivated with the enchanting performance and touched with the story line of the show.

A dinner with the chairman of S P Setia were hosted after the show, the students had the opportunity to dine with Tan Sri Wan Zahid in Umai Café, Putrajaya. Tan Sri Wan Zahid was pleased that many employees of the company have stepped forward to volunteer in making the field trip for the young children a resounding success. "I truly believe that we can make a difference in ensuring that the children are properly guided and molded to become good citizens and future leaders of the country. S P Setia, through the Setia Foundation, will continue to enrich the lives of the children as our social efforts are focused on education as well as aiding the less fortunate," he said.
